Pater

Sangiovese di Toscana, IGT

A fresh and dynamic wine, a Sangiovese with bright reflections and an olfactory component that is clearly dominated by fruity sensations, with strawberry and blackberry accompanying a clear and distinct hint of coffee and liquorice. Soft and tasty with a dry, clean finish.

The start of the 2023 vintage was characterised by lower than average temperatures and abundant rainfall. Rising temperatures in July brought the year's averages back in line with historical averages. From August until early autumn (grapes continued to ripen into this season), temperatures significantly exceeded historical averages. This, as well as the lack of any rainfall, the strong solar radiation and the warm southerly winds that blew over Tuscany, reversed the trend compared to spring 2023. The absence of rain also affected the harvest, allowing healthy grapes to be obtained and harvested at the best time.

Wine Variety: Sangiovese

Alcohol content: 13%

Maturation: a period in barrique and steel

Organoleptic Notes: Pater has a ruby red colour with hints of purple. Its personality is most emphasised by its fruity side. The bouquet has hints of blackberry, blueberry and plum, with floral memories accompanied by nuances of liquorice and coffee bean. On the palate, it is soft and velvety with a hint of freshness. It has a good taste-olfactory response.

Wine pairing: A lively and dynamic wine that goes well with simple dishes. It goes perfectly with traditional Tuscan cuisine: ragout, stewed white or grilled meats.

Available formats: 0.75 L
