After a rather cold winter with little rainfall, the vines began sprouting around the first week of April. With lower than average temperatures, the spring months caused shoot growth to slow down, delaying all subsequent stages of the plants’ natural life cycle. While the grapes ripened later than average when compared to recent years, the excellent weather conditions and decent temperature range allowed the grapes to grow rich in sugars and phenolic compounds during the autumn months.

Wine Variety: Sangiovese and small quantities of Merlot

Alcohol content: 13%

Maturation: Stainless steel - 6 months in vats and 1 month in the bottle

Organoleptic Notes: Chianti Castiglioni 2019 is an intensely fruity wine. It has a bright ruby-red colour with tinges of purple. The bouquet is rich with aromas of cherry, blackberry and wild strawberry followed by elegant Mediterranean scents. On the palate, its soft, elegant and vibrant taste is immediately apparent. The finish is intensely and pleasantly aromatic.

Wine pairing: Full-flavoured dishes such as pappardelle pasta in a meat sauce, as well as roast chicken, sautéed beef with vegetables, and medium-aged cheeses.

Available formats: 75 cl - 37.5 cl
